mcamp14
When I choose a blending mode such as darken, it looks like I expected it would. Once I merge the two layers, the blending mode seems to be ineffective. This is not just with darken, it is with additive, multiple, etc. Quote My Humble Gallery Astronomy Fans group on facebook I see things, I'm an astronomer
jerry533482
try making the blending mode the same for every layer you merge. That's worked for me. I don't think I understand, or it could be because it is late. My problem is this: Layer 1 ---Blending Mode: Darken Layer 2 ---Blending Mode: Normal When I merge down the two layers it acts like this: Layer 1 ---Blending Mode: Normal Layer 2 ---Blending Mode: Normal The top layer totally overwrites the bottom layer, no matter what. jerry533482
If you want the blending mode on layer x to remain the same when you merge it with layer y, you've got to keep the blending mode on both layers the same, or you'll lose the effect. Really, I didn't have to do that with 3.5.1 Quote My Humble Gallery Astronomy Fans group on facebook I see things, I'm an astronomer
jerry533482
Well, I haven't used v3.5.2 for that long(it was released what, yesterday?); perhaps you should speak with rick about this. But, for the whole time I've used PDN, keeping the modes the same always maximizes the effect. jerry533482
It's coming along, but I don't want it to be one of those rushed projects(like some of my pics) that ends up looking horrible, so I've been waiting for more advice on improving the concept; and the prototypes. You can see the latest "beta" here:http://paintdotnet.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=32872 Quote Space...The Final Frontier. -James Tiberius Kirk; circa 2260s My gallery: Jerry's Paint.NET creations My tuts: sun galaxy rings My youtube: http://www.youtube.com/jerry533482 YLOD VICTIM
mcamp14
Oh yeah, I saw that. I hate to advice the use of this effect, but the polar inversion effect might do something to make the nebula look more nebula like, as in that around a star. jerry533482
Can you go into more depth as to how to do this? Rick Brewster
You should take that conversation to another thread or PM though. jerry533482
Can do, Rick. But would you approve of me creating a new thread for this project? That was my original plan, but I didn't want to get another post locked. BTW, would you have any advice on mcamp14's problem?
