gffjj
Hi, I'm unable to run Paint.Net portable - i've tried install and copy method and uniextract method, none works with current build. With version 3.36 and before i never had this problem can you restore functionality please? Thanks in advance
Rick Brewster
There has never been an official "portable" mode for Paint.NET. You haven't described how you have been achieving this, and we are not psychic unfortunately. (I don't know what "uniextract" is) The Paint.NET Blog: https://blog.getpaint.net/ Donations are always appreciated! https://www.getpaint.net/donate.html
gffjj
Hi Rick, Thanks for quick answer. What i did was to install it normally and than copy installation folder to usb stick. Right now i'm getting an error message - if this is important i reproduce problem tomorrow - saying that C++ library is missing and asking me to repair installation. I do the repair but i cannot run Paint.Net as no window is displayed.
Rick Brewster
Well then you need to install the C++ libraries on any system that you want to run it on ... ... but even then, Paint.NET isn't designed to be used as a portable app. You should just install it on all the systems you want to use it on. If you don't have administrative privileges, then ... well, then you'll have to ask your administrator. Whoever that is. gffjj
Hi Rick! Here is error message Seems to me there will be a lot of people afected by this problem as i reproduced it on XP and 7 and i have all files needed as well as administrator privileges. So no chance for a portable version in a near future? All i want is to install it on USB stick and run it from there. If you could save settings to ini, better. Thanks in advance. Rick Brewster
Like I said, Paint.NET is not designed as a portable app. There is NO assistance for what you are trying to do.
