Gigabyte Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 It gives me error like this: There was an error while installing Paint.NET (1603) WTH Quote Post above may contain sarcasm or humor.. or bad english! My Splatter sig tutorial!
Sarkut Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 (edited) Gigabyte, For a 1603 error, try downloading the current installation pack, and installing manually. (Rather than using auto-update.) ]http://www.dotpdn.com/downloads/pdn.html Choose the Custom install option, install to a non-default destination as detailed in this post: Edited April 7, 2010 by Sarkut Quote

Sarkut Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 (edited) Gigabyte, Do you still have a Paint.NET program folder? If so, have you tried running PdnRepair? -------------------------------- Have you checked out this thread? Edited April 7, 2010 by Sarkut Quote
Gigabyte Posted January 3, 2010 Author Posted January 3, 2010 OMG i forgot to say that it wont uninstall that "Uncompleted instalation folder".. Quote Post above may contain sarcasm or humor.. or bad english! My Splatter sig tutorial!
jerry533482 Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 Download and use windows installer cleanup; it'll erase all remains of PDN off of your hard disk, and you can then reinstall without error. It works; I had this exact same error not too long ago. Gigabyte Posted January 3, 2010 Author Posted January 3, 2010 It dont want to install WIC.. umm Quote Post above may contain sarcasm or humor.. or bad english! My Splatter sig tutorial!
jerry533482 Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 It doesn't do any harm to your computer, it just removes leftover files from failed installs so it doesn't interfere with windows. I honestly haven't tried anything else, but I think WIC may be the only way to fix your problem. It's a very lightweight app, only about .3 megabytes of install space required. thehalflifedude Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Simple solution: download This and follow the instructions in the readme included. Why would installing the WIA Automation Library help at all...? Because you are the same person that thinks using a older version of paint.net won't help, I'm going to ignore your question. EDIT: Alright, instead of being a *******, the error that i got when installing according to the temp file, was that it couldn't register WIAAUT.dll, because it isn't included in paint.net installer, so i had to manually install it. Gigabyte Posted January 7, 2010 Author Posted January 7, 2010 Solved it! Manually installed PdN .5.2 Quote Post above may contain sarcasm or humor.. or bad english! My Splatter sig tutorial!
