Paint.Net Setup Front-End has stopped working

Hi all.

So I've been using Paint.Net for a year or 2. And I got this issue on my Laptop, I opened Paint.Net, It couldn't open, something like that, and then it wouldn't uninstall, so I deleted it from ProgFiles, and then while extracting when I tried to install it (1st stage) I got this;

Paint.Net Setup Front-End has stopped working

A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.

Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

Any suggestions..?

1. Do You have the .Net Framework installed properly? Reinstall it.

2. Are You logged as an Administrator?

3. what did the message when opening PDN say?

4. Do You have Microsoft installer?

5. Restart You computer and try again.

I've got -exactly- the same problem. Even down to the timing that the problem started. Except my computer isn't a laptop lol

1, 2, and 4: yes

3: your usual (such and such) has stopped working, do you want to close the program/check to see if windows has a solution.

5: still doesn't help.

I got a virus recently and afterward Paint would not open (Windows 7), although I do not know if the two are related. After trying a few things shown here without success, I copied my effects folder to the desktop, deleted Paint.Net and reinstalled it, replacing the effects folder with my loaded one. Now it works fine.
