Program Files/Paint.NET/Effects

I believe I have done everything that has been suggested to download the new BoltBaitPack.zip. However, nothing is is showing up in the program. I am using the 3.5.1 version.

I have downloaded it and saved it in the effects section and unblocked and it's on Read me...all of that.

Is there something obvious that I have missed?

Thanks,

Tammy

Try doing it again, just as detailed in the link I gave you above.

Sarkut, I love you!!!

You rock!

Okay, now I'll act my age... that was great! See, just when you think you know everything and tried everything - even to the point of not doing something to the 'tee' then you get socked in the head. lol

Thanks a lot! I really appreciate you...and your insistence.

So I've got a strange problem.

I had a bunch of plugins installed and they all worked fine. Most were pyrochild's. Anyway, I went to install the Align Object plugin and I just extracted everything to the effect folder. It didn't work, so I deleted everything I could remember that it put it in there. After that, I didn't have any effects. I also had the Gradient mapping thing in adjustments and Curves+ and such and those are gone, too. All of the original DLLs are still in there, but no effects are working.

Help please!

That does sound strange. Perhaps the simplest solution is to clear your Effects folder and download fresh versions of the plugins?

Sometimes you can end up with a second Effects folder, check you only have one and the *.dll files are inside that. A slight miss with the draging and dropping can easily copy the Effects folder within itself.

You don't mention what version of PDN you're using - if it's not the the latest (3.5.5) then download that too.

sunburst93,

It sounds like you inadvertently downloaded the source files for Align Object.

The correct download for Align Object is at the bottom of the first post in the Align Object topic.

It is a zip file that contains only one .dll file.

I do have 3.5.5, and I somehow strangely got my effects back. I cleared the effects folder and made sure there was only one effect folder then uninstalled and reinstalled the program. When I reinstalled, the effect directory was still empty but I had all the standard effects still. So I redownloaded a few effects, put them in the effects folder, and they seem to work fine now.

Thanks for the help!

Sarkut, I will try that, thank you.

Edit: Tried it and it works great. Thanks for all the help!

I'm having a problem installing the plug-in pack by boltbait. I think I did every step of the instructions to install a plug-in, but still, it's not working. I have tried to install a couple different plug-ins (using the step by step instruction by boltbait) and it wasn't working. Then I downloaded this Vandermotten plug in pak and it seemed to work. So I tried installing the plug in pack by boltbait, but it wasn't working. I'm using the 3.5.5 version of Paint.Net. Anyone willing to shed some light?

Hey,

I'm new here! boltbait.hmm.png ... just saying... boltbait.roll.png

I've been using Paint.Net for around a year now on a regular basis, and just discovered Plugins yesterday. Today, I tried to download Pyro's plugins (from the first post, on the first page), and I got as far as the zip folder full of application extensions. Windows Vista doesn't seem to know what program to open them with... any help?

thanks,

-The Canadian Viking :)

Extract the files to C:\Program Files\Paint.NET\Effects and restart Paint.NET.

Thanks! I'll see if it works.

Feather

Boltbait plugins:

Download the zipped file to your Desktop or Downloads folder.

Open the zip by left-clicking it.

Copy/paste the plugin files to your Effects folder.

=======================================================

Best to install plugins with Paint.NET closed.
