You will notice that the bottom right corner's selection line is 1px outside of the selection, while the top left corner's selection line is 1px inside the selection. So there is an inconsistency. I understand you are just looking at the top left corner but it is slightly annoying. Personally I prefer the bottom right corner's 1px outside selection line if you are looking to standardize. The outline uses bottom-right-exclusive rendering, which is standard in computer graphics.
