Rick Brewster
Looks like another monthly release for Paint.NET is on the way! It's a minor update, although it has a new effect that has been requested many times (and that was also promise for v2.5 about a year ago ). Zoom Blur! This release will also fix the bug discussed over here: http://paintdotnet.12.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=1923 P.S. Anyone got a spare $50k U.S.? Those new 335's are hot ... hey a guy can dream  Quote The Paint.NET Blog: https://blog.getpaint.net/ Donations are always appreciated! https://www.getpaint.net/donate.html

RaveN
Haha....Yeah, Maybe a shape creator can be incorporated in this as well, ie- pentagons, hexagons, and octagons, if not, i will continue to make them the hard way. YAY!
Illnab1024
Thank you for rendering my tutorial (link) obsolete! Also, thank you for killing yet another compression anomaly. BoltBait
No new color docker? I'm sure you could find a few people around here willing to test it for you. Rick Brewster
No new color docker? I'm sure you could find a few people around here willing to test it for you. It would be irresponsible to release something like that to hundreds of thousands of users with so little testing. (We can call it an anomaly and not go any further, ok? ) Actually it's not even a compression anomaly ... we load the image, then copy it over to our own internal format using GDI+. But GDI+ was doing it incorrectly. So we use our own code now. Maybe I should just use libpng or something, jeez. With Paint.NET I honestly believe that we have run smack into every single bug in GDI+. You would not believe the things I have had to work around. BTW, when you find issues with GDI+, do you feed those back to the Windows development team? Bob
So we use our own code now. Wow! it's a big rewriting, isn't it? And i'm surprised nobody ask it, but why v 2.72 and not v 2.71? Quote No. Way. I've just seen Bob. And... *poof!*—just like that—he disappears into the mist again. ~Helio
Rick Brewster
Wow! it's a big rewriting, isn't it? Not in this case. It's basically just copying bytes from one location to another using a simple double-nested loop. And i'm surprised nobody ask it, but why v 2.72 and not v 2.71? 0.01 increases traditionally mean "bug fixes only." This has a new effect, so ... it gets a 0.02 increase. *shrug* Quote The Paint.NET Blog: https://blog.getpaint.net/ Donations are always appreciated! https://www.getpaint.net/donate.html

RaveN
Befriend someone that is a teacher. Go to http://www.journeyed.com They have really inexpensive photoshop. Now DOOM ON YOU. My blur tool is my lasso and my gaussian blur.
EXreaction
I tried the lasso tool and gaussian blur, but if you blur too much at once you see the area that was blurred.

RaveN
Rick we were talking about adding in a tool, and I was explaining how you can do that easily right now. Blur by one pixel, or select just the edges and blur that, then you shouldn't see too many lines.... Sorry Rick.
lilmikemarin
You should add a color filter tool. And an automatic border tool.

Crazy Man Dan
I believe Rick said it'd be this weekend. Yeah. Here: http://paintdotnet.12.forumer.com/viewt ... 1679#11679 Rick said: Ok Dan, the 2.72 release this weekend will not have a fix for this.
