AlexK
Hi! I have some great PNGs with a transparency background. I want to use them in mein Webpage. But if I view the webpage with an older browser, PNGs are not displayed correctly (without transparency). Then I tried to convert them to GIFs but this failed also, because I can't get them transparency... Could you give me a tipp? Regards, Alex

david.atwell
GIF does not support partial transparency. If there's anything in that pixel's location at all, it will be rendered as opaque (even if its transparency is only 01) Quote The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... One day it would just drop out of the sky and tear down your world.Amy: But how did it end up in there? The Doctor: You know fairy tales. A good wizard tricked it.River Song: I hate good wizards in fairy tales; they always turn out to be him.

Rick Brewster
The problem is, that I can't force the visitors of the webpage to install the latest browser... You can't force them, no. But you can at least inform them that unless they upgrade (for free, no less) they won't get the full experience. See sites like http://www.ie6nomore.com/ It's not worth the effort to debug and optimize for pathologically old software or hardware. You have better things to do, even if it's drinking a beer and putting your feet up. You can't force them, but you can nudge them in that direction  This site has the necessary HTML code to prompt users of IE6 to upgrade. You can cut & paste it into your own sites if you feel so inclined. http://www.stoplivinginthepast.com/why-upgrade/ Quote ebook: Mastering Paint.NET | resources: Plugin Index | Stereogram Tut | proud supporter of Codelab plugins: EER's Plugin Pack | Planetoid | StickMan | WhichSymbol+ | Dr Scott's Markup Renderer | CSV Filetype | dwarf horde plugins: Plugin Browser | ShapeMaker
