When ever i go to install it i go to http://getpaint.net then http://download.com and download it, after I extract it I try to install it but after the agreement i get this Error

-(There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor.)-Fatal error during installation

Which version are you trying to install?

Why aren't you downloading it from the Paint.Net website: http://www.getpaint.net/ ?

I recommend that you stay focused on the stable v.3.36 for now.

Have a look at this thread:

It would be good to run the Installer Cleanup utility at this point.

I appreciate you trying to help but I looked at the topic you told me to look at and I tryed what he said but I still got the same message I really want to get paint.NET.

And are all Service Packs installed and fully current on Windows Updates?

Is NET Framework 3.5 SP1 installed?

When you use Windows' Run function with: %TEMP%

Do you find -

PdnMsiInstall.log

and/or

PdnSetupNgenInstall.log
