Barbieq25 Gallery - New car wallpaper p.1

Recommended Posts

Schwitters ... I wouldn't say that, I think it's awesome ;) Love the metallic glow, like it's resonating life.

Lilly Rose ... a rose by any other name ... dark, broody and full of emotion

Who is To Save Me ... I've been asking myself that question for years and this almost sums me up.  Bursting with energy but with a dark under current ...

3 very different, all thought provoking pieces done with your usual style of talking to the viewer through a canvas.  What more can you ask for from an artist ?

Who is to Save Me had been sitting for months...I finally got it tweaked. Glad that you all can see something reflected in the work.

Kind words Julio :D Thank you.

Helen, prim & proper - haven't heard that expression in donkey's ages but I like it. Thank you :D

Welshy, Kurt Schwitters - an interesting man with a unique way of working. Dark & brooding I like a lot. This one nearly got binned but there is something there that I could not deny. Like walking through an old graveyard. Hints of former glory & attempts at beauty but in the end it is all an illusion & in vain. Sometimes my life feels like that. I am sure we all feel that at times. Your comment about talking to the viewer through the canvas makes all the years of struggling with my art, all the self-doubt, worth every minute.

I used to wonder when I could be called an artist. When I sold my first work? My first commission? Nah! I create - therefore I am. :D

Kemaru, likewise your comment is very much appreciated.

DrewDale, thank you so much for your kind words & very nice to have you back here again. No doubt you will produce more of your eye-candy for us.

xod, thank you & also welcome to my world :P

Whoops! Excuse while I wipe my keyboard dry. Drool

Who is to Save Me seems a very scary place. Shattered glass surrounding straps of steel?

Midnight Oasis looks like a cyanotype print. The flower looks a little wicked. Beautiful.

Barbie, you never cease to amaze!  Some very strong recent works.  And as always, your gold and jewelry work is second to none.

Midnight Oasis - Awesome.  Monochromatic in the best sense of the word.  It's amazing what one can accomplish using multiple values of one color.  Speaking of colors, here's a video by Blender Guru about color theory.  Pretty informative.

Who Is To Save Me - A little disconcerting.  Very effective.

Curtain Call - I'm loving it!  It would be a great backdrop for something dramatic. Edited by RedBeard

Thanks Red Beard. I do love monochrome. Midnight Oasis is one that I am very proud of. Not only did hubby rescue the mistreated bulb & bring it home to me to caox back to life & flower, but I also took the photo that formed the basis of the image.

Who is to save me is pretty much how I felt at the time & feel again that way...guess we all do at times :D

Thanks for the video...I will watch it now. :D

Oh MY - what stuning pieces.  As @Redbeard says ........... well, I -ditto- his comments and I'm drooling too.  They take a while to download though.  Is this because you save them in large files?  Or is my computer playing up, I wonder?  Simply love the first two ..... a lot .... Midnight and the one with - is it a pink flower?  Fabulous work smiley-gen014.gif

Your kidding right?

Frontcannon hasn't been around for ages, lylcoup.  Besides, at the time he posted that, Barbieq might have needed a new layout.  :-)

I've got quicker broadband now - so I can see them full-size easily now. What a pleasure - good colour choices and a very polished look!

Glad you are creating and posting again :star:

So lovely to have you back on here.  They are all so pretty & hard to pick a fave, but, if pushed I think A Hard Rain B) does it for me.  Of course the boat is fabulous.  Wish I was there.  Wonderful pieces - so smooth and peaceful ;) .

The red is present strongly, that indicates lots of activity, :)

I like the wall papers all equally.

But the boats photo is so special, really beautiful. I can feel the Vignette and Soften effects? What else? Have you tried the Cross Processing? it works great with these kind of photos.

I am so glad you posting again. :)

Thank you Seerose. Between the new computer & operating system, it was a struggle to even do simple things. I'm sure we all agree that it is worth persisting to create art :D

Red Ochre & Pixey thanks :D Good to be able to create again. Missed you guys too. Limited broadband is awful. I've been there too. Glad you have a faster connection now.

The boat is not mine. I took a photo at the harbour when we went fishing there again. The boat behind the sail boat is the one that took hubby's fancy & that is why I took the photo. Mind you, I like the look of the sailboat. Love the lines & colours in it but don't know how I'd feel on a sailboat. The harbour has a lot of memories for me. My father & I worked our trawler from the harbour. It has changed a lot but it is comforting to see that despite the new buildings & marina etc., the big rock mass is still there. I have not doubt that the thought of blasting it to create a wall was on the cards.

Thank you Helen. Photos are not really my thing but it never hurts to try new ways of working :D

Daniels, all 3 wallpapers came from one flower photo. What I wanted to do didn't work out so I let the image evolve as it were. I found then that there were a few images worth saving out of my experimentation :D

Yellowman, the red came from the flower, as noted above :D but you are quite right in the process for the photo. I did try Cross Processing & I think I used it to get a bit more colour. Also used it to change the colours slightly in the other wallpapers. I do love the Vignette plugin. I miss the Lomography plugin. Laplacian was also used in all 4 images.

There will be a few more photos coming :D

Thanks everyone for your support.

Thanks Goonie. I like the way the it turned out so I stopped messing with it. That is the hardest part sometimes.

Here I have 6 new ones. A couple are from the same base image but I could not decide which one I like better, so I kept them all :D

One is a photo edit. All are 1920 x 1080 wallpaper size.

Hey, hello

Clicked on Wood Witch, searching the crevice - Where is she? Ha, I think I see her.

Escape. That one little word in the photo shouts.

I've been looking at small RVs and motor homes lately. I've got such an urge to become a snowbird.

Echoes of the past - Strong feelings there.

All very interesting.

Great titles for the images and respective (not sure if that's the correct word, but I think you get my point) images! It's interesting how it's supposedly spring where I live, but it feels like Autumn because it's so cold and raining.
