Axle Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 do you have .NET infrastructure?? Quote My Deviant Art | My Gallery
bwperrin Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 I have a slightly different problem, but didn't want to create yet another install problem post. I have .NET 2.0. I don't have .NET 3.5, never did, and don't want it. Yet somehow, there's a Paint.NET 3.36 on my machine that I can't get rid of. Now you say, duh, install .NET3.5, nuke paint.net, nuke .net3.5. But I say, no friggin way, I do not want all the baggage that comes with installing .NET 3.5 (windows updater, etc.) I just want my old friend Paint.NET 3.31 - am I screwed? Quote
Sarkut Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 v3.36 requires only .NET 2.0, although 3.5 is recommended. Sounds like sticking with 3.36 is best bet. 3.31 not available. Quote
bwperrin Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 well then, how very odd. In fact, my paintdotnet.config contains ". Nevertheless, when I try to run (or uninstall) paintdotnet.exe v3.36.3158.38068, I get the following error: "This application requires .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 or greater. To download..." Quote
Sarkut Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 Yeah. That sounds pretty screwy alright. Dunno. Quote
Rick Brewster Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 I don't have .NET 3.5, never did, and don't want it. You should install .NET 3.5 SP1. I'm not sure what it did to offend you, but I'm sure it's sorry. Quote The Paint.NET Blog: https://blog.getpaint.net/ Donations are always appreciated! https://www.getpaint.net/donate.html
bwperrin Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 deleting *.exe.config in the install directory fixed me up. Glad I found your (more helpful) post on blog.getpaint.net. You don't really want the full "windows update (3.5 prereq) is a virus" rant, do you? :? Quote
