I am trying to flatten a jpg. image/ our logo to fit on a template website. The fatten function is not highlighted or the crop function. Not a computer wiz. Any suggestions on how to accomplish this. Thanks, Kim

ctr+shift+f  or when you save the image as .jpg it will ask you if you want to flatten it.

For more info press F1 or go here help topics.

If you want to make the image smaller by cropping out a portion,

use RectangleSelectTool :RectangleSelectTool: and Crop to Selection. :Crop: .

To squash down the image, rectangle select around it, choose

:MoveTool:, then engage the top center node of your selection

and move it down. This will make the image flatter, but will distort

its aspect ratio.

To stretch horizontally, engage a side-center node and pull sideways.

to stretch: select something and then click M and then move the nubs.

What exactly is not working? you could also try merging a layer onto another(ctrl+m).

EDIT:aah sarkut beat me to it.

Flattening in Paint.NET and Photoshop takes a multilayer image and reduces it to a "normal" single layer image, which can then be saved in any format (JPG, PNG, etc.). It has nothing to do with the image's dimensions or content.
