Text tool not working

When I enter text the cursor moves but no text appears. I really enjoy paint.net bu tI need to enter text!

Make sure something isnt selected, press Ctrl-D to deselect.

if that's not it, make sure you've got the primary color set to something you can see...I.E. not black text on black background

also make sure you are not typing text on a layer under a fully opacity layer. text should generally be last thing to be done on the very top layer.

Holy bananas it worked! When i read it I was like "that is way too simple" but i was wrong!

I have another question. After I type something then select something else, how do i move what I typed?

You need to put it on a new layer, then select it and move it.

I see, is there a way that I can select it such that I can edit it as well? The way I am doing it is exactly how I would select part of an image I wished to move.

While you're typing you should see a block or arrows. Click+hold and move your mouse.
