thenrik
Hi: I've used Paint dot net, 3.36 on dozens of different computers without a problem but on my new Core duo it takes at least a minute to open a file on the desktop. I don't get any error messages but it just takes forever. On P4 computers files open instantly. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling netframework 3.5 but the problem still exists. My hardware guy says it's a problem with Paint dot net and I say it's a problem with the hardware. Any ideas? Thanks, Tom
Rick Brewster
Try installing the latest alpha build of version 3.5, viewforum.php?f=46 See if that helps. There have been numerous performance enhancements over the last year since version 3.36. If the file still takes a long time to load, then I'll need a crash log so I can get the system info as Paint.NET sees it (force it to crash by going to Utilities -> Force Crash), and a copy of the image in question (assuming you are comfortable doing that, e.g. it's decent and you're willing to share it). Frontcannon
Is the problem just opening the files? Or does it have an overall low performance? Some software tends to have performance issues sometimes on dualCore systems, but the effect appears somewhat randomly.. You can run PDN on one processor only and see if that helps (Task Manager -> Processes -> right-click paintdotnet.exe -> the lowest option -> then untick CPU 1 | this is the WinXP way).. But this mostly affects older programs, but you could give it a try anyway Quote Night Vision Text Effect Tutorial Gallery reddit.com/r/futurebeats | My Mixcloud
