Oh yeah. Microsoft has so many versions I can't remember all the differences. :)

The only ones any normal PC user has to worry about are Home Premium and Professional.

What are the differences between Professional, Ultimate, and Home Premium. Not sure which to get when I purchase a desktop.

The main features you get with Pro vs. Home are 1) the ability to encrypt files (it's part of the file system), 2) Remote Desktop server, 3) Windows XP Mode. It also gives you the ability to join a domain, which is important for businesses.

And, personally, I think the blue color of the box is way cooler than the green of Home ;)

Pro is now a proper superset of Home, unlike Vista Business vs Vista Home, where the latter had Media Center but the former did not. There isn't much reason to buy Ultimate anymore, unless you want BitLocker (full disk encryption).

I picked up a few copies the other day ...

Son, someday you will make a girl happy for a short period of time. Then she'll leave you & be with men that are ten times

better than you can imagine. These men are called musicians. :D

On a DX4300-11. The one with the AMD Phenom Quad-Core processor. The only thing is I am having problems getting internet connected to my new computer. We have another desktop at our house with the internet and a router set up, but I needed to get internet setup. So I got a netgear wireless g router and we can't get it working. any solutions??

Is there a chance you set up MAC address filtering and forgot about it?
