Curved Text and Blending Flesh Tones

I would like to know how to create curved text around say a face and to blend flesh tones.At the moment i create text on white background and paste it onto the image and use the Buldge tool under Effects,Distort and fiddle around with it but never get the desired effect....is there an easier way? Also, how do i blend flesh tones around the text area as once you paste it in you can see slight edges...is there a Smudge,Blend tool in Paint.Net ? Useing the colour picker tool creates a different effect.Any ideas ?

you could use gaussian blur+ or the smudge plugin, for the writing possibly try playing around with layer properties
