mdt
Hi, My Paint Net has stopped working. When I try to get into it I get the following message: Paint.NET has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. I then tried to uninstall using the Windows Add/Remove Software. I get the following message: There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. contact your support personnel or package vendor. Then I downloaded a new version and tried to install that. That did not work. I get the following message: Paint.NET Setup Front-End has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. If anybody can help, I'd greatly appreciate it! Thanks. Frontcannon
Well, you could try to remove pdn manually by simply deleting it and then get rid of its reg files with CCleaner.. After you've done that, try to reinstall. Quote Night Vision Text Effect Tutorial Gallery reddit.com/r/futurebeats | My Mixcloud
Rick Brewster
Do you have Microsoft .NET Framework installed still? It is required for both the application and the uninstaller. PaintNet123
Re-install .NET 3.5 and the problem went away for me
Frontcannon
But how can your Framework start missing from one day to another?? Ahh, don't answer, I know, it's Windows. PaintNet123
I think something happened when WindowsXP Update installed the latest .net SP2 updates. My Microsoft Visual Web Developer 2008 suddenly started to show module-load errors when starting up pointing to a .net 3.5 problem. Did a repair-install and all was well again. no idea what happened...
Frontcannon
That's the trouble resulting from automatic updates Quote Night Vision Text Effect Tutorial Gallery reddit.com/r/futurebeats | My Mixcloud
mdt
Ok thanks to you all!!! I reinstalled .net 3.5 and now it works!
MichJJC
I'm having the same problem but .NET 3.5 isn't working for me. The program won't work nor will it uninstall.
Frontcannon
Please specify. Quote Night Vision Text Effect Tutorial Gallery reddit.com/r/futurebeats | My Mixcloud
MichJJC
I received the same error messages the original poster received so I tried the fix that worked for him/her. I tried reinstalling .NET 3.5 and then tried to use the program. It didn't work but I knew it was a longshot. So, I then tried to do the uninstall of the Paint.NET and then received the same messages as before the 3.5 install. Is there another way to remove the Paint.Net without corrupting OS files?
