TopHATslash
Okay well I had a question, and a topic to talk about. Me (14), my 11 year old brother, my single mom moved into this house in a sub division in Florida when my parents split. My mom is living off a 25 grand income in a house that's over $200,000. It's a miracle that we can make our payments each month. We moved into a house with dying grass because the people who lived here before didn't care. Its in a neighborhood with homeowners and all that, like the little group of people who don't like the little mistakes you make. The good thing is that we have had countless lawn developers, sprinkler installers, grass specialists say our grass is coming back. My mom is good friends with everyone in charge of the neighborhood, so we don't have to worry about them because they know we are a single family. Right now, our elderly neighbors are attempting to sue us because our grass is supposedly killing theirs. Though the head of central Florida's lawn and grass company is saying that our grass is just growing back, there is nothing wrong with it effecting our neighbor's grass. Can they do this? Can they sucessfully sue us if we already have written statements from everyone in the lawn business, plus the home owners? I'm not worrying about it, but they do get on my nerves. Constantly sending letters, coming to our door, stalking us, and creeping in our driveway.
Lance McKnight
Sound like a case of intimidation to me, and I would consult with an attorney. Many time attorney will do an initial consultation for free, and I would look into that. I have never heard of such case like that, but I suppose there's a first time for everything. Also, document everything. I do mean everything. Videotape them if you have to just to back up your case. Quote Officially retired from this forum. Have a nice day. DarkShock
Let me start off by saying your neighbors are [word inappropriate for this forum]. I think I live in a neighborhood sort of like yours (remember I also live in Florida). My neighborhood has this thing call the HomeOwners Association (HOA) and they're basically the enforcers when it comes to your house and landscape. I've never heard of a situation like this before. You neighbors should just give you guys a notice if your grass is killing theirs (if it is) and should not attempt to sue you right away. Warn them that you have been told your grass is improving. Honestly, I don't believe that dead grass can spread and kill other grass. I know that mushroom on your grass can spread from your lawn to anther's, but that isn't the case. Here's a pic of outside my bedroom window. Does it look like your neighborhood? Sozo
If you ask me, this is just a case of obnoxious neighbors having a stick where it doesn't belong. I'm pretty sure that they wouldn't have a leg to stand on in a legal court, especially if you follow the steps above and get lots of documentation, statements, etc.
Goonfella
I know I don`t live in America but I`ve worked in a garden center for 7 years and I`ve never heard of grass on one lawn killing the grass on another ! If your (turns the air blue) neighbours have a problem with their grass it`s probably because they are not caring for it properly. Just take Lances advice and record everything. Best of luck. Quote Please feel free to visit my Gallery on PDNFans And my Alternatives to PDN

Gamer_World14
You could even bring this thread to court to help you out, it sounds like your neighbors trying to sue are just after you... why do some people have to be so inconsiderate... DarkShock
How can you tell which house is yours? They all look the same to me... Yeah, I get that a lot. I guess the only way to remember is by the address on the mailbox. It's not a big neighborhood though. I think my house is the only yellow two-floor house here.
