Judy Kristoff
I am trying to create a rounded rectangle filled with a gradient (for use as a sign up button). I have created the rounded rectangle inside the canvas and colored it in full orange using the paint bucket tool. When I try to apply the gradient, the entire canvas gets the gradient, not the rounded rectangle portion of the canvas alone. How do I get the gradient to apply only on the rounded rectangle? Alternatively, are there other ways of creating a rounded rectangle filled with a gradient?
BoltBait
Use the magic wand to select your filled rounded rectangle, then use the gradient tool. Judy Kristoff
Thanks! That worked and I am able to get the gradient to fill just the rounded rectangle. This has created another issue. My gradient goes from white to orange. I am using an orange line to convey the borders of the rounded rectangle. The orange line borders the straight edges but not the rounded corners. How can I draw the rounded corners in orange? (I have tried using the paint brush tool in high magnification to draw the rounded corners but the corners come out jagged.) Sozo
I believe what you are describing is aliasing around the edges. Do a search for the Feather tool.
