$299! Now I feel like I should've waited :|

But..considering the bundle cost $399 and MGS4+Killzone 2 cost about $90 together, I guess its the same difference..

Ans I really dont think Ill dish out $249 for PSP GO! when it comes out. I still have my white Star Wars PSP lying around somewhere... dont remember the model number..

$299 :o

This is what MANY people waited for, but well the increased sales compensate the loss Sony makes with every sold console?

Sony doesn't just sell PS3's though. Its a major company; it should make an overall big profit, and if that means making some losses on some products to get market share it benefits them anyway. :)

_____________

$299 for the new PS3. Bugger. In the UK its £249. $299 is about £180.

Luckily i hadn't ordered the old PS3 bundle. I'm definitely gonna get the new one now (40GB more hard drive space too.) Its available for pre-order on amazon already lol. i wish AC2 came out in september though. AC2 + PS3 would've been a good bundle.

YES!!!!!!!!

I will finally get PS3 now!!!! It always feels good to wait for the sweet price drop!

I can't wait either. :)

I predict PS3 sales will skyrocket, but the PSPgo sales will be upsetting.

I also found out a couple weeks ago that the PS2 outsold the PS3 last month. That is probably why Sony is desperate to lower the price...

More sold consoles = more sold games. Sony's gonna make more money in the long run I think.

As long as I'm talking about games.... does anybody listen to the Epic Battle Cry podcast? [link]

No, I don't really listen to the EBC podcast. I've been checking out GameTrailers for three years now. Basically the main things I watch is Invisible Walls, Bonus Round, and any video for a game that looks good.

I hear CoD4 is awesome, and I wanted to buy it a while back, but I kinda figured I might as well wait for MW2 which will be out in about two and a half months time.

Anyone actually thinking about buying MW2 Prestige Edition with night goggles? I can't see myself spending additional money on it

...although that is an interesting incentive..

Dude, why would some random person want night vision goggles? It just seems like they made it to get more money. I'm getting the hardened edition.

I've been making a joke saying that the night vision goggles are just binoculars they got at Toys r us with green lenses and an infantry ward sticker on it.

Hmmmmmm. Toughie. I don't mean to sound spoilt but I have both ( :D ) so I can make a, what's the word, non-bias decision.

Xbox 360: Probably the best thing about Xbox is that it has a lot of community support and keeps you updated on Inside Xbox. And you can make Avatars which is pretty cool. I know a lot of people have said this already but the downfall of 360 is that Live costs. But I have noticed something. You pay for live, but the content you buy is cheaper. Take COD:WAW Map Pack 3. I bought this on PS3 for £7.99 (Or for all the Americans $10). On Xbox the Map Pack is 800 Microsoft Points, which equates to £6.80. So there is an upsaide to the Xbox Live.

Playstation 3: Now, personnaly, I think that PS3 has better exclusives (E.G Little Big Planet), but I am not that keen on Halo 3. I was into Gears Of War 2, but I could never PWN with the Gnasher (Shotgun) :( . I also like inFAMOUS a lot. But I can see Forza Motorsport 3 pipping Gran Turismo 5 at the post. A big thing about PS3 is that it has a Blu-Ray drive built in, which gives the PS3 a big boost, but it depends whether you want to spend 20 odd quid on a movie.

I think I'm going to have to go with PS3, but that might be because I have COD4 and COD:WAW on PS3. Who knows?. I had a Wii once. It sucked.

Cheers,

Swalski

*EDIT* I'm not buying the prestige edition. Anyone who has night vision goggles and isn't in the SAS has problems.

Well did you hear of the guy who just paid $17,000 for a single gilded SNES cartridge of a Zelda game? :D

I heard Microsoft was also supposed to reveal a 360 price drop, but the announcement was canceled at the last second because there is a bunch of 360 Pros in stock to be sold.

If a lot of people know about the price drop then they won't spend $300 on the Pro when the Elite will be the same soon...

What about a price drop for the Wii?

It's about time..

I'm looking forward to the Metroid Prime Trilogy Edition.. 3 awesome games at a low price. Must-have.

I don't think there will be a price drop for the Wii any time soon. And the thing is, I don't think there will be much people buying a Wii any more when you can get a PS3 for an extra for an extra $50. The PS3 has well polished games and free online play. Yes, the Wii has free online play, but is there anyone who actually likes it?

Thought that was because the PS3 announcement of a price drop came at about the same time theywere planning to. I could be wrong though.

You know, I've always wanted to try this franchise out for a spin, but I've always heard mixed reviews from friends. Perhaps I should, while I still have spare time on my hands...

If you mean liking the idea of free online play, probably not. But hey, I'm willing to bet people put money down just for Mario. I mean, come on, it's Mario :) and Brawl too of course.

Also, pointing and shooting around with the Wiimote isn't so bad either. I got my hands on CoD: WaW for Wii before I got a PS3, and I don't thinking the controls were that bad. Took some getting used to, bu not bad. Now if only there were other similar shooters with good controls. Which sorta leads back to my statement in my previous comment about Metroid

You mean, I wrote that in depth review, and you'd already got a console!?!?!?!?

Maybe I shouldn't skip from page 1 to page 4
