Ace9star9 Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 Wow best tut I've seen in a long time 10/10. I'm going to try right now. Quote ~ACE

Boude Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 For the ring, I would suggest polar transformation, instead of polar inversion. Quote History repeats itself, because nobody was paying attention the first time.

roguert4u Posted June 18, 2009 Author Posted June 18, 2009 Yeah polar transformation could be used But that requires me to download yet another plugin they are beginning to slow my computer thanks for the advice though Quote Yes, rogue is my real name.

Sy-Tex Core AI Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 I just started with photo editing ... It's no the best but I like it Nice tut Quote
neatfreak 47 Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 Very cool! I'm gonna have to try this one out!!! Quote
mcamp14 Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 Amazing tutorial! I got to the step where I needed to draw in the crust, and I was like 'jeez, I am way too tired and lazy to do this,' so I kinda stopped. However, I love the outcomes that I have seen! A lot of hard work was put into this and I am impressed! Quote My Humble Gallery Astronomy Fans group on facebook I see things, I'm an astronomer
pdnnoob Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 Nice tutorial! This is probably the most complex I've seen in a while. A few suggestions: 1. As Tendercrisp said here... Feather has to be the single most useful and versatile effect in the history of PDN.Use feather on the picture of the earth. The pixelated edges there really gave me a bad impression of the tutorial when I first looked (but, after I read the whole thing, I was like  )2. Lower the saturation of the explosion. I would never expect to see colors as bright as those anywhere short of an animated film by Disney. 3. Instead of using "rotate/zoom" to rotate the ring, try "shape 3D." Shape 3D has an anti-alias feature that takes away the pixelated effect. 4. To give the ring less of a "paper-thin" look, draw an outline around the outside edge with a very similar color (on a new layer), add black and white noise, use median, and smudge it. You should end up with a sort of 3D ring around the edge if you do it right. That should cover the sharp edge the rotation made. Note: all comments based on first image That list ended up being longer than I wanted :? I hope I didn't offend anybody. As I said...I'm very impressed with this tut. Great work! EDIT: NOOO!!! Smudge doesn't work with pdn 3.5 yet I'll have to finish my attempt later Quote No, Paint.NET is not spyware...but, installing it is an IQ test. ~BoltBait Blend modes are like the filling in your sandwich. It's the filling that can change your experience of the sandwich. ~Ego Eram Reputo
Remii9512 Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 I didn't have smudge (out of laziness) so i improvised with Gaussian Blur and motion blur. Turned out pretty good to me. Quote Trolololol
BSAZ Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Great tutorial roguert4u! I didn't like the effect adding the earth gave to the explosion on my image (that's just me - on yours I loved it haha) so I sorta deviated from the instructions and made an exploding star. Image: Quote
eightball200 Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Pretty good for a first tutorial, I've recently done something similar: from to edited from a screenshot of the demo version of motherplanet's earth explorer software Quote
Dylan93 Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 Gotta love this tutorial, I made differant planets: They'r to big to be posted here as the resolution is 1370 x 768 http://i47.tinypic.com/296hy6w.png and: http://i49.tinypic.com/wwdq1t.png Quote
