Your Favourite Tutorial in Tutorials+

Recommended Posts

Well, some people that ive heard say to me that theyd rather not filter through tutorials threads and legacy tutorials to find some decent tutorials, so i thought of this idea. what's your favourite tutorial in tutorials+ (and legacy tutorials)? hard, easy, look good watever, just your favourites, post away!

I can't remember the last time I tried a tutorial, but the most recent one I looked over was probably Oma's and I found ithat it would probably be easy for a newbie to follow. Another one that I remember was "Cutting Out Images the Easy Way" because the words were right with the images, which made it interesting to read and easy to follow.

Might as well ignore Legacy. They're only there because they aren't the kind of tuts people would want on the main tuts+ listing. The worthwhile ones have already been moved.

The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... A nameless, terrible thing, soaked in the blood of a billion galaxies. The most feared being in all the cosmos. And nothing could stop it, or hold it, or reason with it. One day it would just drop out of the sky and tear down your world.
Amy: But how did it end up in there?
The Doctor: You know fairy tales. A good wizard tricked it.
River Song: I hate good wizards in fairy tales; they always turn out to be him.

well, david, some of my favourites are not necessarily the most popular. most of my favourites are in legacy tutorials.

well I'm not sure its my favourite but its one I did ages ago when I first started out and realized hey this program could be something I really could go places with. its the tut that made me feel artistic for the first time.

this is the legacy tut by Madjik viewtopic.php?f=15&t=3138

he was one of my very early mentors in this program and I must say his work has always inspired me. his plugins are super!

and here is image I made based on that tut

That's why you request that they be moved in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=29&t=26923&start=60 . Legacy tutorials will probably be gone in the future.

Any that haven't been moved over? Then request that they be moved over! :-P

The point of locking and sending tutorials to the Legacy forum is that they are either not teaching anything of consequence (that is, they give a result that does not help the user to advance in their skills) or that they perform something in a difficult way when a better way is available. Either way, we're not doing anyone any favors by steering them toward tutorials like that. :-P

I've tried to move useful and high-teaching-value tutorials to the new forum. If I've missed any, that's what the link I posted in my last post is for.

david, wasnt tutorials+ made to reduce clutter in the tutorials section? and also to make things easier to find, as theyre under categories? well, there was thousands of tutorials in legacy, and a large handful were good, but if we request all of them to be moved, wont that create unnecessary clutter in tutorials+? so, we should keep legacy in this discussion, because there are some good ones out there.

Cazaron, that completely defeats the purpose of dividing it into subfora if people still have to go into Legacy to get their tutorials.
