Well I honestly search around the web (if I cant think of anything original) and look at tutorials, by any program. While attempting to copy teh tutorial or idea in paint.net, sometimes it looks better or worse in my opinion...

Check out this tutorial, this is something I dream of doing lol:

Look at tutorials, deviantart, flickr(if I want to take pics) the internet in general is just an awesome place to build up inspiration, a lot of times I'll just see a website with a cool navi bar or something and that will get me going lol. Keep your eyes open ;)

I don't have good ideas; I'm a leech. I feed off the ideas of others, taking bits and pieces of different art, and mashing them together. I emulate, I copy, I magpie. Even the world around me I steal from. Not one piece of art in my gallery is my very own idea, not entirely.

Here is a few places I get my space inspiration from -

http://www.smashingmagazine.com/2008/08 ... e-effects/

http://designreviver.com/inspiration/31 ... photoshop/

http://psd.tutsplus.com/articles/inspir ... paintings/

In the last one those spacescapes are absolutely stunning. I can only dream of being able to do something like that. Awesome!

To be honest, I think most of us are like that. It's rare when there is something that is totally new and unique. Most things are a "variation on a theme" or "new and improved".

Since most of what I do are logos I look through magazines at the ads and on TV. Some of the news programs have really great graphics. Since I started using PdN, I look at things and say, Oh yeah, I think I can do that, or hmmm, I wonder how I could do that in PdN. Also, the tuts are a great inspiration. Everyone I have done has given me an idea for how to use it in a different way. Last night I was uninspired but still wanted to do something so I just tried to cram as many plug-ins into a piece as I could and still not ruin it.

Ok, did I ruin it?
