What would you suggest?

The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... A nameless, terrible thing, soaked in the blood of a billion galaxies. The most feared being in all the cosmos. And nothing could stop it, or hold it, or reason with it. One day it would just drop out of the sky and tear down your world.
Amy: But how did it end up in there?
The Doctor: You know fairy tales. A good wizard tricked it.
River Song: I hate good wizards in fairy tales; they always turn out to be him.

Not really. Not without filtering out the legit posts.

@Simon: I think that's something we might have to do. I'm suggesting it to the mod staff now.

I will say this: I'm glad the forum members are responding maturely to this latest spampage. Nobody posts in their threads or responds like they used to.

True, which is good as most of the time no one's on the other end of what the people say anyway to read the comments. The trusted user idea is very good though, but how would you decide how many posts is "posting much"?

Changed the text in the signature yay!

If you were responding to me, my suggestion was that everyone who has already registered be moved to the "trusted list" - or, more specifically, kept on it.

A whitelist isn't an option. We have to maintain an easy avenue of access for new users reporting bugs and requesting help.

I think people are more aware of what can happen if you click on any of these spam links etc.

You might end downloading nasties without even knowing it. Which is why I think it is so important that if something can be done , it is done.

( I think a few posts sneaked in there before me :D . I`ll have to type faster next time!)

I accidentally clicked my own gallery once and got spammed by a bunch of crappy images. Man... did I learn a lesson.

When computers become self-aware and take over the world, the porn bots will get much, MUCH worse.
