djamoeba
Hi guys. I'm new on here. I've used Paint.net before, but this is my first post on this forum. I'm trying to figure out a way that I can make a cartoon in Paint.net. I was thinking of outsourcing to a real artist to make the design, but I used to draw a lot when I was younger, and I'm thinking this is something that I could do myself. How could I make a cartoon amoeba? Not like a real amoeba, but more like a purple meatwad kind of cartoon. Are there any plugins I need to look into? and do you guys have any tips for me when doing this? Thanks in advance guys.

Leif
If you are able to make a freehand drawing, it is possible to scan it into paint.NET and do what is called a line trace. First make the picture bigger then what you want the finished work to be. ~3 times as big can be a good place to start. Then make a new, transparent layer. In that layer you can make a digital drawing, using the line tool, looking much like your scanned image. Learn about the Bézier curve; it is a big help. Make the layer with the original drawing invisible. Flatten and resize down again. That is the quick explanation. It takes a loot of practice and there are a handful of other tricks. But it works.
