grungedoll
hello, does anyone know how to go about making a font on paint.net look like this? http://i39.tinypic.com/npph7q.png any help would be highly appreciated!
Simon Brown
To add a shadow simply duplicate the layers, guassian blur the top layer and increase the brightness slightly, then move it below the other layer and drag it a bit.
grungedoll
thanks, I'm really just interested in how to get the embossed effect without all the gray? and if you notice the glossy effect it seems to have.. any idea how I'd do that? Crimson
Try BoltBait's Bevel plugin (search is your friend!). Quote Create A Professional-Looking Product Advertisment Mockup flickr | Deviant Art
becauseiwantedto
^Try that, and also use the glass button tutorial for the shine. Embossing and then setting to overlay is not always bad, either, it really just makes an alternative to Effects > Photo > Sharpen. Quote Changed the text in the signature yay! PDN gallery! Jellyboots
One way to make a bevel, is -select(magic wand) the area around the text -create new layer -fill in the selected area with the colour you want the beveling -blur this layer -duplicate this layer, and then merge, to make shading stronger(well that's what I do) -go back to text layer, and magic wand select outside the text again. -go back to the shaded layer and then use the cut, to remove the unwanted area. -then merge the bevel shade with the text and you should get something like this
