gn4711
hi, i got a strange behaviour. when i start PDN, i got an error exlamation-msgbox with no text and just an ok button and the application exits. in event log i can find this text: Fehlerhafte Anwendung PaintDotNet.exe, Version 3.36.3158.38068, Zeitstempel 0x48b23e68, fehlerhaftes Modul KERNEL32.dll, Version 6.0.6001.18000, Zeitstempel 0x4791a76d, Ausnahmecode 0xe0434f4d, Fehleroffset 0x000442eb, Prozess-ID 0x%9, Anwendungsstartzeit %10. translation error in application paintdotnet.exe, version ..., timestamp ..., faulting module kernel32.dll, version ..., timestamp ..., exception code ..., error offset ..., process id ..., application time ... starting setup for reinstall will lead to same behaviour (exception-msgbox and eventlog entry). running windows vista ultimate german i386 reboot doesnt have any effects. HITMAN-X-
A google search on the error code shows that this error is common for many apps running on Vista. As for a fix to this error, I have not seen one yet. You may need to dig into this error code as it looks like KERNEL32.dll is the problem and not the programs. http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&q=0x4 ... arch&meta= Quote DEXTUT.COM
mats22
hi, gn4711 i have the same problem. running vista, too but home premium. which framework.net do you have? many people wrote that this might be the solution. but they are all talking about framework 2.0 i think you can't run 2.0 on vista, just 3.5 which i have, too. so the next thing i tried was deleting pdn manually. i also deleted all registry files. did you tried that, already? well, unfortunally this didn't work for me either. did you find any solution for this problem?? Bob
i think you can't run 2.0 on vista, just 3.5 which i have, too. The .NET Framework v3.0 is included within Vista. The .NET Framework version 2.0 is part of .NET Framework v3.0. .NET Framework v3.5 include v3.0. Quote No. Way. I've just seen Bob. Rick Brewster
One of Vista's flaws is that many programs will just not work, the kernel32.dll is the problem in the original topic here You don't know what you're talking about. Indeed. Edited as such. Truthfully, I really do not know much about Vista as I got rid of that OS when I first got it, greendisked-in XP. I looked this up and that's a summation of the search pages. Bob
Is Paint.NET the only application to do that? Do you have disabled some services? Quote No. Way. I've just seen Bob. mats22
I don't that I disabled services i need. all my other programms are working. paint.net is the only one with this error. which services do you have in mind? in the meantime i tried some registry-cleaner but it seems that there is still something left which recognizes/remembers the problem when i try to reinstall paint.net. this could mean the registry isn't clean, yet or there's a problem somewhere else... but i can't think of a windows application which could cause problems on paint except of framework. i checked my antispy and firewall programms but no services are blocked which would have an effect on paint.net. i also checked my system for a virus but it's clean. EDIT: http://img22.imageshack.us/img22/3603/unbenanntwhv.jpg do you think this i could be caused by kernel12.dll? Mats
