Support for Drawing Tablet

Recommended Posts

  • 2 months later...

Well, we certainly don't have any Wacom tablets. So we can't really implement the support for it anyway unless someone buys a tablet for one of us (myself, Tom, and/or Dennis).

"Ink" was disabled in v2.1 for non-Tablet PC's because it was becoming a performance liability to check for it at Paint.NET startup. Ink is just the name for the way a Tablet PC provides pressure sensitivity and asynchronous input. You can install the "Ink" support on a non-Tablet PC but it really doesn't get you much. It's completely unrelated to Wacom tablets.

Maybe a checkbox "I want to activate Tablet PC features"can be useful?

No. Way. I've just seen Bob. And... *poof!*—just like that—he disappears into the mist again. ~Helio

It doesn't gain you anything if you don't actually have a Tablet PC. If you have a Tablet PC, we use Ink, otherwise we don't.
