LFC4EVER
I know soft erasers and such are in the popular feature requests already, but i was thinking, until Paint.NET v4.0, maybe someone could make a plugin that has uses custom brushes as such to erase. Something like pyro's smudge plugin, but for erasing. (maybe the strength slider in smudge could affect the opacity of the eraser?). I think it would be possible; distorting pixels is possible, so why not removing? Quote ☆★☆★Merry Christmas★☆★☆ .::.My Gallery.::.Make Gold Text!.::. Boude
as a substitute you can create an alpha mask, by starting with an entire black canvas and painting it with a soft brush. the plugin should be possible, I think simon brown would consider it as a new option for his custom brushes plugin. LFC4EVER
Yes, but that method is not only long (sort of) but it can be inaccurate as well. I s'pose blend modes/custom brushes could be used to sort of get the erasing in the right place, but an eraser plugin with support for brushes (doesn't mean soft brush only, various brushes from stars to splatters to grass, anything really) would be much more convenient. Boude
it's a substitute, not the real deal, so it can never be as good, if it would be as good, you would ask for the substitute not the real deal . LFC4EVER
I am asking for the real deal here. Not a tool, but a plugin that works like a tool. Like smudge for example. So, any help on this idea, pyro? Simon? All other plugin writers? Quote ☆★☆★Merry Christmas★☆★☆ .::.My Gallery.::.Make Gold Text!.::.
pyrochild
I don't see a reason why Custom Brushes couldn't be extended to include this kind of functionality, but then again I haven't seen that plugin's source code in a long, long time. It might no longer be feasible, depending on how the source code has grown or changed. Quote ambigram signature by Kemaru [i write plugins and stuff] If you like a post, upvote it! Simon Brown
Probably - it still looks like it was written in BASIC.
