Martel
Please excuse me if this is a dumb question but after searching I cant seem to find out. Can I add custom colors to the pallet? I would like to have some cool colors to recolor a car or clothing etc... Thanks in advance.

Martel
Down, Thanks for the reply.. I have read that like a zillion times and can't get it to add the color to the palette. I have tried "The first one adds the current color to the palette, Click on the button, and then click on the palette to place the color" no results Also tried selecting the area of color first. EDIT: I know I am missing something so obvious..
BoltBait
OK, so you expand the color docker window so that it looks like this: Select the color you want using the color wheel, sliders, or the eye droper tool. Then, click this button (the left one): The palette will blink letting you know that you should click on it. Finally, click where you want the color to be stored. The color you clicked on in the palette area should be replaced with your newly selected color. Martel
BoltBait, Thanks so much for the detailed explanation. Following the details it worked exactly as you said. Only one last thing... The color I am selecting is a funky looking material called Lycra. When I place the color selection on the palette I only get a pastel, when it is actually a sparkly color. I am thinking I must put a layer behind or something... Thanks again..
david.atwell
That's because it's not a color, but a texture. You're talking about vastly different things here; colors can be expressed in one pixel, while patterns require multiple ones to render. Martel
david.atwell, Thank you for the information... I was totally out on the wrong limb. Talk about wacked...here is what I got with the clone stamp. Reminds me of the pattern stamp in another program. Searching the http://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/en/index.html ... I don't see textures
Martel
Is there a tutorial on what I am attempting to do here?
david.atwell
Your best bet would be to fill a new layer with the texture using the Seamless Texture Maker and the Photo Flood Fill, and then erase everywhere you don't want the texture to be on the image. :-) Quote The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... It sounds like this is what I need to do for my current project as well. Thanks! (I'll be over here trying to figure it out on my own for a bit... the thumping sound is just my head on the desk, pay no attention...)
