Zacariem, go to Control Panel then Fonts and then install them to your pc. Then Pdn will have that font.

You don 't have to put them into Paint.NET.

When there are installed into C:\Windows\Fonts, they can be used by any program (Word, Paint.NET, an other).

  • 4 weeks later...

I understand that once you install new fonts into your fonts folder, programs should be able to access them. However, When I opened up Paint.net only a select few of the new fonts showed up. I checked to see if the font I needed was True Type, and yes it is, (it's also in my Fonts folder!) so how do I get all my newly installed fonts to load into the programs? Is there a problem with my Fonts Folder? Windows XP? All this simple technical stuff is driving me loopy! Thanks for any help.

Paint.NET may need to be refreshed. if you just installed the new fonts then you have to close Paint.NET and open it up again.

Do other programs see the fonts? (Like MS Word, etc.)

If not, then the fonts are not installed properly. Did you go into the control panel and click on the Fonts applet? You should use it to install fonts. When you do that, the applet will copy the fonts to your fonts directory for you.
