jerkfight
I've just been wondering, when you do art what inspires you. Does it work. Post things that inspire you.

Mike Ryan
Around 90% of my artwork is inspired from music. I have always loved the theory that music is a visual thing, but I attempt to take it a step further and explore the sights and colors that I hear when I listen to music. Some of my signatures, such as my current, actually include bits of the lyrics from the songs they interpret their meaning from. The other 10% comes from people telling me I can't, even if the can't has ntohing to do with artwork, I try to paint my struggles.
Lego
When I play music I zone out. When I zone out, I don't notice anything except for Paint.Net, and i make artwork. Sounds like Heroes or something..but it really happens to me.. Nothing inspires me really. I just play music, then find myself on PDN. Quote Lego's deviantART. La De Da... ZizOiz
I typically get the inspiration for new pieces just out of the blue. Images pop into my head and just bounce around until I draw them, or at least sketch them. If I like the way the image is going, I'll continue work on it and eventually post it. Other times, I'm just noodling around on PDN. Isn't noodle an interesting word? fun to say? I think it is. noodle noodle noodle noodle noodle.... 007 Nab
I check out other people's stuff and then rip it off Like WB, I also just look around and try to replicate every-day items (like wood  ). Like Mike and Lego, I also listen to music - I could be blasting some Muse and go for something crazy or tone it down with something like Coldplay and come up with something more elegant. I think there are many factors that influence how people express themselves. Quote "pyrochild, you're my favorite person ever. We should go snowboarding some time."~ 007 Nab. Ish. HELEN
I am inspired by, first of all, my family. I get all this creativity in my head and I try to put it into PDN. If I get stuck, I ask my siblings what I should add. I then try to put my artwork I draw on paper or did as projects a while ago on PDN. Sometimes I get inspirations from websites and obviously, from this awesome forum of Paint.NET. I guess each person on this site contributes to my inspirations. I can just keep on going and going with new ideas. I'm really into photo-realism, yet it's very hard, I love to paint, draw with both colored and drawing pencils, markers (preferably Crayola), oil pastels, and I LOVE to doodle. And one more thing, I STILL want to be a paper engineer (well, an amateur). Here's a site that you might find interesting: http://robertsabuda.com/popmake/index.asp Isn't that cool? Quote Don't spit into the well, you might drink from it later. -----Yiddish ProverbGlossy Galaxy Ball---How to Make FoliageMy Gallery PDN Fans--My DA
survulus
Around 90% of my artwork is inspired from music. I have always loved the theory that music is a visual thing, but I attempt to take it a step further and explore the sights and colors that I hear when I listen to music. Some of my signatures, such as my current, actually include bits of the lyrics from the songs they interpret their meaning from. The other 10% comes from people telling me I can't, even if the can't has ntohing to do with artwork, I try to paint my struggles. See, I love music, it's a gigantic part of my life... but representing it in visual form feels so difficult to me. I wish I could put into an image what muisc makes me feel though. I get inspirationfrom everywhere I can, I see a cool shape, I use it, I see a nice design, I'll break it's elements up and remember them, I see a new atmosphere or theme, I'll try and convey it. Ideas tend to just come to me randomly. Most aren't predetermined. Quote Check out all my newest stuff on my dA I iz bassist here

Blooper
A stock picture usually. And it doesn't come easy. I've gone through 80-page Photobuckets full of stocks without finding anything that spawns an idea. If I look at it, and I don't have an idea of what the outcome will look like, it doesn't work. jake2k
Sometimes just something random that I see somewhere, other times something online like DeviantArt or something on the forums here. I also have a few artistic friends who inspire me. Then I find some good music to keep the inspiration flowing so to speak. HELEN
Rubrica, do you create just origamis or pop-up papercrafts like I do? I hope people will someday find the joy of papercrafting. survulus
You mean you don't? You have to have been inspired by something somebody else did at least, I did. Quote Check out all my newest stuff on my dA I iz bassist here
