Kemaru
They're pronounced the same way, source and sauce. Hatred does not cease by hatred, but only by love; this is the eternal rule. |fb(page)|portfolio|blog|
Andrew D
I'm still trying to interpret this.sauce(XD)/source code is prolly ripped of paint.net and photoshop TT.TT The source code has probably got parts from Paint.NET and Photoshop in it? I don't know how that would be possible with Photoshop though, I don't think System.Reflection would do much to it, seeing as it is a huge program. On what is the assumption based? BTW: Paint.COM is based on COM technology and Paint.NET is based on .net technology. What a stupid program name. Blooper
PDC doesn't require the .net framework, so I don't think there's any ripped source. http://synthastic.deviantart.com http://soundcloud.com/siderealenterprise Lockerz invites are available, PM me

Goonfella
Apart from the fact that it may/may not have parts of other programs incorporated into it - what`s it like to actually use? Is it worth getting? I know quite a few guys have both PDN and PS and use both. As PS is so expensive and out of the reach of a lot of people, is it a decent alternative? DaveD
I tried it out. Seems to have a lot of features, but I don't like the look and feel of it too much. Some people seem to like it though. fediaFedia (Paint.NET user that makes lots of MS Visual Styles and such) http://fediafedia.deviantart.com/ My first impression:Once I tried this utility - it became my favorite image editor instantly! I really liked the simplicity of use, even though the controls need getting used to they are really well grouped and can be customized. The main window has a familiar side pane like in photoshop and it contains the primary controls such as layers, colors, swatches and according to the tool you select it displays a new panel. Even though it's called Paint.COM (COM - Component Object Model, technology it's built on) which sounds familiar to Paint.NET it has more features than Paint.NET and is much easier to use. I used Axialis IconWorkshop and Paint.NET before for small graphics jobs (like modifying transparent frames etc), but Paint.COM has features of both programs and it's much easier now, I even made a new 7-zip icon in 5 mins, might release it later Of course it doesn't have thousands of functions Photoshop has (it supports it's plugins though), but if you're looking for a light and easy image editor Paint.COM is just what you need! Don't hesitate to donate if you want to help the development of this program. I know I would...
