janbo
Why is the below so?? I have taken a screenshot of what the same right click thumbnail viewer can 'see' , could this be a bug in PDN that may have been fixed in the latest build... lemme know
Kemaru
Do you have the version 3.36? Quote Hatred does not cease by hatred, but only by love; this is the eternal rule. |fb(page)|portfolio|blog|
Crazy Man Dan
Yeah, one thing: Make sure you're keeping up-to-date with PDN releases. T'is in [rule=7]The Rules[/rule], after all. Does the image itself have proper transparency when you actually open it in something? Rick Brewster
There's most likely a bug in the thumbnail generator that you are using for that screenshot. Photofilter is probably saving transparency as 0,255,255,255 whereas Paint.NET uses (as the math dictates) 0,0,0,0. All color values with an alpha values of zero are equivalent (they are transparent after all). Ergo, the bug is in whatever is creating the thumbnail. I can't see enough from your screenshot to know what's actually going on. Nice to hear from you Rick I dont think it is a bug in the Image generator as the same white background for transparently saved images is still shown when created by other image applications like Ulead PhotoImpact (in the preview test). To me, the black background does not look at all nice when previewing my PDN transparent images in the thumbnail preview.... SO I was wondering if, as you mentioned, when saving transparency images if the values can be configured from from the black 0,0 etc to the white 255, 255 (the white prefered) Would this currently be possible otherwise for the next version? Rick Brewster
I didn't say the problem was with the image generator. I said the thumbnail generator. This discussion has been had on this forum before -- transparent pixels are all mathematically equivalent. If your other software doesn't treat them as such, then it has a bug. I'm not going to add weird and arbitrary hacks into Paint.NET for this. You should report this bug to them.
