Hey,
since the update to 5.1 it´s no longer possible to save images with a transparent background as jpg/png.
The background is always saved with 100% opacity, although it is displayed correctly in Paint.NET.
I have already tested it on 3 different computers with Win10/11 but the same problem occurs on all of them.

Before the update this was never a problem and worked without any problems.
Is it still possible to download version 5.0 somewhere?

This statement is incorrect.

The JPG format does not support transparency. Therefore it has never been possible to save images with transparency in this format.

PNG does support transparency. It works just the same in 5.1 as it did in 5.0.

So we can help you:
1. Please create a small image that demonstrates the problem.

2. Save it as a .pdn

3. Now do Save As to save as a .png

4. .Zip both images and attach the .zip file here

What app are you using to view the saved .png image outside Paint.NET?

And is the transparency checkerboard shown as expected when you reopen the saved .png in Paint.NET?
