The above attached image of the TB has a sliver of white space seen at centre right. To allow a small increase in the work area, is it possible to collapse or move the second row of TB buttons in an attempt to reduce the white space?

Thanks.

Hi BoltBait, thanks, that makes sense, never used thumbnails as Paint.net has been used here for single file edits only. Guess the fact that paint.net can be only run in one instance was a thing missed. A floating thumbnail bar requires another window as well - for that the Function hotkeys are all used up which only leaves Shift+Fn, things complicate quickly. 🤔

@Laurie See here https://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/MainWindow.html #4 and here https://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/ImageList.html for how to make best use of the image list if you do ever want to edit multiple images.

Even if you are single image editing, depending on what you are doing it can sometimes be useful to have a copy of the same image open in a separate tab so you can quickly switch between them for comparison purposes.

@Tactilis Wasn't aware of the same image in another tab, that helps things a bit, always relied on the history window, of which it is fair to say has few limitations.

Do apologize for bringing this up again, even though in other apps my personal preferences have always menu/hotkey, in Paint.net they are really cool, so there's no issue with them at all.

Thanks for your interest. 😀
