Hello, I was wondering if it was possible to resize the drawing zone but just one size, for example only vertically and not in diagonal and horizontal.

Yes, you can change the canvas size using Ctrl+Shift+R, which does not affect the content, unlike Resize [Ctrl+R].

If you use "By percentage:", it'll always affect both dimensions. But if you use the "By absolute size:" option you're free to edit height and width independently of each other, provided you un-check the "Maintain aspect ratio" checkbox.

Use the "Anchor" to determine to which side to expand respectively from which side to crop. For example: reducing the height by 50 and increasing the width by 20 with a "Left" anchor will crop 25 from top and bottom each, and add 20 to the right side.

So in short:

  1. Ctrl+Shift+R
  2. Select "By absolute size:"
  3. Uncheck "Maintain aspect ratio"
  4. Set "Width" and/or "Height" as needed
  5. Select the anchor to determine where to crop/append

Bonus information:

If your resize is meant to crop an image to a pre-defined area, you can also make a rectangular selection around that area, and then press Ctrl+Shift+X to crop the canvas to that selection.

For rotated or non-rectangular selections, it will crop to fit the selection, but also make anything that isn't selected transparent, which may or may not be what you want.
