Crimson 4 Report post Posted December 21, 2008 I am seriously hating the taskbar. The round Windows logo that's fitted to be all inside the bar just looks weird. Hopefully they'll come out with a few Visual Styles.
pyrochild 344 Report post Posted December 21, 2008 I am seriously hating the taskbar. The round Windows logo that's fitted to be all inside the bar just looks weird. Hopefully they'll come out with a few Visual Styles. The orb does look bad in the new taskbar, but using that taskbar is seriously a breath of fresh air. Keep in mind that Windows 7 is a long way from release, that Microsoft does have a sense of visual appeal, and that the design will probably undergo countless tweaks before they settle. Visual styles are doubtful, (other than the usual color-changing ability), but that's what programs like WindowBlinds and uxtheme.dll patches are for. Simon Brown 42 Report post Posted December 21, 2008 but that's what programs like WindowBlinds and uxtheme.dll patches are for. And Microsoft don't have to support.
david.atwell 286 Report post Posted December 22, 2008 Posting links to leaked builds probably violates rule 28. Probably. Unless they're posted by Microsoft themselves. :-)

david.atwell 286 Report post Posted December 22, 2008 Well, if it's hosted and endorsed by Microsoft, it's not warez, is it? :-P

david.atwell 286 Report post Posted December 22, 2008 Oh, shut up, I'm watching the history channel while I post. I'm distracted by a Star Wars special. Trade out the last "not" for a "so." Also add an "At this point, the length of this conversation is way out of proportion with my interest in it."

Helio 2 Report post Posted December 22, 2008 Children! I WILL pull this car over! Ahh, The_Lionhearted... *sigh* Anyway, two things I appreciate: One, the dark blue of the command bar being replaced by the much more appealing silvery–blue. Two, the task bar no longer makes any attempt at looking round–ish. Though the orb may look a little strange in these previews, I think it's much nicer than Vista's task bar/start button. Simon Brown 42 Report post Posted December 22, 2008 Personally, I think that the Vista start button looks rather out of place sticking-out from the taskbar.
Crimson 4 Report post Posted December 22, 2008 Perhaps. But a circular object shoved up against a square corner is very conflicting to the eye, don't you think? Maybe if they made the windows logo square...
Simon Brown 42 Report post Posted December 22, 2008 Or a pre-Vista style button, only without the text.
Lego 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2008 I'm downloading the beta right now..(the one set to release early next year.) and I have my fingers crossed. I'm hoping for it to be AMAZING, because all I have heard so far from other people who have downloaded it are good reports. 12 minutes left until it's officially on my computer, and following that I will be able to start the installation process. Stephan 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2009 I bet it will be torrented less than an hour after it's released. And why not? I guess I could give it a whirl as well...
spike 121 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2009 ha. It's already been torrented, and the beta isn't even public yet. Besides that the beta is free.
