Tactilis Posted November 16 Posted November 16 Welcome to the forum @hqqddy Before you post again, please read the Forum Rules http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/2932-read-first-the-rules-yes-you-read-this and note #1 Quote 1) Before you ask for or about ANYTHING: 1. Read the FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions), https://forums.getpaint.net/topic/399-frequently-asked-questions-faq/ 2. Search for your answer, http://searchpaint.net/. This URL links to a custom search engine and differs from the forum search function. The custom search is wider and returns more results - it is the preferred search tool. 3. Read the Popular Feature Requests posting. If it's already there, don't ask for it. Seriously. Don't. https://forums.getpaint.net/topic/2940-popular-feature-requests/ You will find you question about changing the default file type has been asked many times before. The answer is no, you cannot change it and this behaviour is by design to avoid the risk of accidental data loss. It is very simple to set the file type when saving: 1. Press Ctrl+S for Save (or Ctrl+Shift+S for Save As) 2. Type in your file name. 3. Press Tab which will move focus to the Save as type field. 4. Press the initial letter of the desired filetype; e.g J for JPEG, D for DirectDraw, etc which will select the type. 5. Press Enter to Save. 6. Press Enter to OK the Save Configuration. Using keys for steps 3 and 4 will save you much time.
BoltBait Posted November 16 Posted November 16 By the way, the default tool can be set on the settings screen. Download: BoltBait's Plugin Pack | CodeLab | and a Free Computer Dominos Game
Guest Posted November 21 Posted November 21 @Tactilis well thanks for advice but it isn't help much. As @BoltBaitsays for default tool so I ask for this option for default file type for save. I suppose it's not take much times and efforts to implement into paindotnet.

Using them takes about 1 second to select the file type. 1 minute ago, hqqddy said: I ask for this option for default file type for save. This will not be implemented. You were given an answer above: Read the forum rules, which means reading the FAQ and previous answers on the forum. The FAQ answer to "Can I change the default save format to JPG?" explains why Paint.NET doesn't default to .jpg, or any other format, apart from .pdn and .png And searching the forum will reveal that the question about changing the default file type has been asked many times before. The answer is no, you cannot change it and this behaviour is by design to avoid the risk of accidental data loss.

The answer is accurate and the forum rules are mandatory: Quote The RULES You must read these rules, and you must abide by them. They are mandatory. The rules are not 'recommended reading'.
