Luggerink Posted November 14 Posted November 14 (edited) Hi. I have some problems downloading the update. The program notified me that the update was available, and initially it downloaded correctly, but then the update simply did not download, and made a Windows error sound. I already saw on the forum that this could be related to the antivirus, but when I turned it off the situation did not change. I attached a screenshot at which point the installation simply stopped (when the green bar reaches the end). What could this be related to? (Clarification, the old version 5.0.13 still works) Edited November 14 by Luggerink Quote

If it's hanging when "Extracting" then this is likely a disk hardware failure, or an issue caused by your antivirus or some other software that's involved in disk activity. Or maybe you're out of disk space. Very unlikely to be a bug in Paint.NET. Quote The Paint.NET Blog: https://blog.getpaint.net/ Donations are always appreciated! https://www.getpaint.net/donate.html

And it's definitely not a memory problem, I still have 24 gigabytes available on my disk. Is it possible that Paint.NET can't update because of BoltBait's Plugin? Quote
toe_head2001 Posted November 15 Posted November 15 Right after the Paint.NET installation dies, please open the Windows' Event Viewer and look in the Application log. (Event Viewer -> Windows Logs -> Application) The items should be sorted by datetime, so the most recent item should be at the top of the list. Let us know if you find anything Paint.NET related. 10 minutes ago, Luggerink said: Is it possible that Paint.NET can't update because of BoltBait's Plugin?
