TLWV
I am new to P.N and am also fairly new to web site design. I have a company logo, created by someone else, that I need to put on my web site as a banner on the home page. The web site software I am using requires the logo to be a different size than it currently is ( measured in pixels). How can I adjust the logo size? BTW, as best as I can tell the logo has two layers. Thax for any help. TLWV
PyroTechniques
You can resize any image you have open in Paint.NET by going to Image->Resize. Enter your values into the boxes. If you don't want your image to be warped, check the "maintain aspect ratio" box. However, if you're making the image larger, you may end up with some loss of quality, due to the nature of bitmap images. Quote Photobucket Sucks! Crimson
This may make absolutely no sense to you, but does anyone know if Inkscape has a "Live Trace" function, like Illustrator does? It may help him a lot. Quote Create A Professional-Looking Product Advertisment Mockup flickr | Deviant Art
Myrddin
If I haven't misunderstood you Crimson, then yes, under the menu command Path > Trace Bitmap. Quote How to Save Your Images under Different File Types My dA Gallery
TLWV
Thanks for the tips on this subject. I did try to resize my logo and it did distort at the size needed, which is larger than it currently is. So I had another idea. The background layer for the logo is white. If I could create a white layer that is the correct size for the web banner and then add the logo as a top layer over that, I could then save that creation and place it on the web page. BUT, I don't know if that can be done in P.N. Any comments or ideas would be appreciated. TLWV
someone93
If the logo has a transparent background it should be no problem at all.
TLWV
Thanks someone93. Can you give me an idea about how to go about doing that? TLWV
someone93
Any images? And more information about the resizing, (Which size it currently is and what it's supposed to be) etc.?
TLWV
I tried a few things over the weekend that seem to work. I created a box with a white background the size that my website header template requires. Then, I centered the logo, which also has a white background, in that box and merged the two layers together. Once I placed that new design into the header, things showed up as they should. The one final step I would like to take is to eliminate the border around the first box I created, but haven't figured that out yet.
someone93
I think I could help you more if you attached the images, I don't get your current problem...
yellowman
After merging the layers, save the file as JPG , the white background of the logo layer is not the same tune of the white background of the soled layer that you created.Give it a try because it happens with me some times. TLWV
Thanks to all who have offered assistance. I have been playing around a lot more with P.N. and I have been able to layer items together to create the logo design that I needed and wanted. I am still quite a novice with this software, but have appreciated it's featrures and loook forward to continued learning. TLWV
