Greg55 Posted November 8 Posted November 8 Once I create a speech bubble, I can't get away from it to the next one in that frame. I just keeps changing the first bubble. I have tried saving the file between attempts, also doing that and shutting down paint.net and restarting. It occurred to me that it has something maybe to do with layers? Do I need to create a new layer for each bubble then flatten them at the end? I like that you can change the size of the bubble and move text around . Way easier than the ham handed way I did it before. I also like metallize. I am trying to use the plugins one at a time to learn them. I am probably overlooking something simple here and will be embarrassed old retired guy when I find out the problem. I didn't try the layers idea because I am not confident in my knowledge of that aspect as yet. Quote

It just keeps changing the first bubble. DPY's Speech Bubble plugin is not changing the first bubble. When you press OK, the bubble is just a set of pixels in your Background layer. It seems like what you may be doing is creating a second bubble in the same position as the first, so you are just overwriting the pixels in the same area. Use the Position control in the plugin to place the second bubble in a different position. It's not 100% clear what you mean by "I can't get away from it to the next one in that frame" - but you are on the right track mentioning layers. It always makes sense to create new objects, draw lines, add text, etc on new layers. That way the pixels are not 'burned' into the background and you can move them around independently without affecting each other or your original image. Learn to love layers! Take a look at the excellent Paint.NET documentation. That's a great attitude but you will get on even faster if you get the basics dialled in first - and handling layers is definitely part of that. 1 Quote
