Newbie ? about black and white and color

I have looked over the boards and must be missing this answer.... I need to make a photo that is black and white and some part of it colored. does that make sense? thanks so much!

when you use the search button the term you need is pleasantville and you will find a tut on what you wish to do.

*Facepalm* I amazed at how many people don't know about the Search Button. It's in the Top Right Corner of Every Page.
