Feature request: Keyboard shortcut to exit on CTRL+Q

Recommended Posts

Sorry, no. I'm not doing that.

The way to do this is to press Alt+F and then X. That's very standard for Windows apps. Ctrl+Q is not a standard keyboard shortcut to exit a Windows app.

You can also press Alt+F4.

Apologies if you know this already @Udavf, but nowadays many people do not realise that Alt+Underlined letter activates an app's menus, or activates a control on a dialog.

So Alt+F X  activates File > Exit

Or if your paint.net Language is set to русский (Russian), it's Alt+Ф Ы  to activate Файл > Выход

As @Rick Brewster says, you can also use Alt+F4, which is the standard way in Windows to close the active window; see https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows/keyboard-shortcuts-in-windows-dcc61a57-8ff0-cffe-9796-cb9706c75eec#desktop  and expand the Desktop shortcuts section.

The Alt+F4 shortcut is the same in all languages.
