Troy
I'm using paint.net 5.1 (β 5.100.9004.30371) 1. Has the brush hardness changed? I often use hardness at 0%. It seems like now it's too hard. Has this changed? 2. Feature Request: Is there a plugin, or it could be done natively to make the hardness less than 0%. I often find that I would like it to weaker/softer when painting. 3. Has the spacing been changed to a percentage now? It wasn't like that before, right? Ideally, I would also like more precise control in this area too. Rick Brewster
The brush engine has not been changed in 5.1. You can certainly look for discrepancies, if any, and post them. You can use the portable build of 5.0.13 launched with the /mutexName=PDN5013 command-line argument and even do side-by-side testing of both versions. 1 Quote The Paint.NET Blog: https://blog.getpaint.net/ Donations are always appreciated! https://www.getpaint.net/donate.html
Troy
Interesting that you say the brush engine hasn't been changed (and you would know!) but I swear, things are different. Another thing I'm finding different is that when using the Clone Stamp and the Paint Brush tools it "feels" like the affected area bleeds out more from the center. I don't think I explained that well, but it seems like more of the color is being spread out compared to before. If nothing has been changed, any chance of the being able to have softer results with a setting lower than 0%?
Rick Brewster
It might just be the improvements to both performance and input latency. Higher framerate, that sort of thing.
