The option to add various effects (Outline, Drop Shadow, etc.)

I use text quite often in my images, and often I have to manually add in my own drop shadow to the text by retyping in black and putting that in a separate layer. So why not give the option to have a drop shadow with our text? Or even other effects like outlining the letters? And I don't mean in the drop down menus, I mean in the toolbar itself, maybe put the options next to the Strikeout?

Please read the Forum Rules and note particularly #1.

A quick search for 'drop shadow' or 'outline text' would have revealed that there are several effective ways of doing what you want.

 

 

For example, take a look at @BoltBait's Text Fun Factory plugin. It is far more flexible than having a couple of text formatting buttons in the toolbar.

 

 

Installing the plugins is simple using the installer linked in the above post.

Easy!

1. Put your text on its own, blank layer.
2. Run Effects > Object > Drop Shadow over the layer
