gregs
Hi. I'm trying to do something very simple but the solution is eluding me. I want to create small .jpg files that are simply labels for the keyboard function keys F1 through F12. So, I need to be able to create an image using the text tool and then save the image with a transparent background. I'll then place these images over buttons I create using another program. The image should be transparent in that only the text shows once placed on the button. Could someone please tell me how to save the text-only images? What I'm saving now includes the white layer background. Thanks.
BoltBait
Save as PNG instead of JPG. Quote Click to play: Download: BoltBait's Plugin Pack | CodeLab | and how about a Computer Dominos Game
Curmudgeon
QFT The only Jpeg files that save transparency that I know of are Jpeg2000 files (aka J2K). Paint.NET doesn't use JPEG2000, so you'll need to use a format that allows transparency, such as .png, .tga, or .gif
Ego Eram Reputo
Could someone please tell me how to save the text-only images? What I'm saving now includes the white layer background. When you create a new image the canvas defaults to white. So what you need to do is either select & delete the white on the layer, or deselect the white layer visibility (or delete the layer altogether) and then create a new one for your text (creating a new layer defaults to transparent). Its a great habit to get into to create a new layer for your text. You get the transparency without thinking about it and that makes moving or retyping text a breeze.
