On a side note...I did learn a cool method of making chrome/metal plates using Drop shadow and Conditional Hue/Saturation plugin. while working on this piece.

Was it tut before? anyone wanna learn?

Plugins you will need:

Conditional Hue & Saturation

Drop Shadow

Or Outline Object -- thanks -Expiration-

Enjoy :)

Just one question. Couldn't the red (or any color) Drop Shadow thing be created with the Object Outline plugin set at a -90 degree angle? It just seems it would be easier that way.

Call me expired. Please.

@MiguelPereira: lol thanks :)

@Max Power: I've tried every setting, but just doesn't look quite right to me.

Just like AA, basic AA, Feather...and I like how Feather's look more.

But sometimes in some cases I will still use the other.

But it doesn't matter. The more method one knows, the better :)

The main trick in this tut is the conditional hue/saturation.

You can even draw with the line tools and fill with color and get the same result

Another thought provoking guide Ash. Here's mine with a few adjustments.

Thanks.

One question. On the idea of using "Outline", I have two outlines, one under "effect >outline object" - and another "effects > object > outline", I have even gone to the link you provide for "outline" and downloaded it again. It is the same as "effects > outline object" and I do have 3.30, and NONE of these outlines offer a color wheel mentioned in the thread, NOR a way of setting the angle to -90 as suggested in this tut thread. Really confusing.

Good job.

"Thought provoking"...That's what I try to do :) Glad it worked.

Outline by BB viewtopic.php?f=16&t=22819

Outline Object by pyro viewtopic.php?f=16&t=21706

Of these 2 plugins Only pyro's Outline object will work with this tut. Besides Drop shadow, that is.

You might need to update to the latest version too see the options.
