it seems to me that...   When i start up PDN  (and maybe do some work) and

When i do (Adjustments)  [Invert Colors] for the first time,  it fails maybe 70--90% of the time.

(how it fails is...  there are large rectangular blotches of transparent areas),   So i do Undo and try it again, and the 2nd time is a success 95% of the time.

Could you also paste here the text from: :Settings: Settings | Diagnostics | Copy to clipboard

We still need this ^^^

I'm not able to reproduce this. It could be an issue with your GPU. I recommend you, 1) update to the latest version of your GPU driver, 2) make sure you've got all the Windows Updates installed (to make sure any DirectX updates are installed), and 3) if all else fails, switch to CPU rendering in Settings -> Graphics. This last one is only if you're desperate, and should only be used temporarily, as it can result in some effects taking a VERY long time to run.

Thank you for commenting!   What bothers me is...  when it fails by giving me small or tiny glitches.  Here, there's an artifact at Upper-Left:

@HenryH What bothers me is that, although we are trying to help you, you have not responded to the simple requests:

1. "Could you also paste here the text from: :Settings: Settings | Diagnostics | Copy to clipboard"

or

2. "I recommend you, 1) update to the latest version of your GPU driver, 2) make sure you've got all the Windows Updates installed (to make sure any DirectX updates are installed), and 3) if all else fails, switch to CPU rendering in Settings -> Graphics. This last one is only if you're desperate, and should only be used temporarily, as it can result in some effects taking a VERY long time to run."

Doing 1 and 2, plus BoltBait's:

3. "When this happens, and you save the file... is the glitch in the file?  Or, is this only a glitch on the screen in Paint.NET?"

would help diagnose the problem.

It's in the file.     In both examples above, i copy-pasted the files.

(i'm afraid of posting the huge Diag file here because it might contain personal info about me)

This is all we need.  It will give us paint.net information and nothing personal from/about you.

You find this via the ⚙ wheel on the top upper bar when you are in paint.net.

It does not contain personal info about you.

It's just text -- you can read through it yourself and if you see something you don't want to include, edit it.

Closing this thread as further investigation of the reported problem is not possible.

@HenryH has not provided the requested paint.net Diagnostics and has not replied to a polite PM and subsequent email asking whether they intend doing so.
