Ugh! Latest update is crashing my PC. version 5.0.11

Recommended Posts

Since the update to 5.0.11, I can open the app...but when I try to make a new project (150 dpi, 800 x 800) the whole system crashes.  I can't do anything at all.  No CTRL+ALT+DEL, no mouse, no windows, nothing.  I have to do a hard shut down.  is anyone else having this issue?  Windows 10, 1.6tb free on harddrive,  Everything was great prior to update. I uninstalled. Please advise.  Been using paint.NET for over a decade.

The whole PC seized up, I couldn't access any files.  There was nothing in there after my hard reboot.  I just uninstalled and installed a previous version which still works fine.  I just don't have the patience to mess with it.

Nothing in where? You mean nothing in Settings -> Diagnostics ?  I doubt that is the case.

You'll have to stay on your previous version forever then.

Or... you could try installing 5.0.11 again, post the Diagnostics and we will help you investigate what is the problem (if it still exists after the reinstall).

Your choice.

Then we can’t fix it.

Everyone’s computer setup is different. If we can figure out what’s different about yours, we could probably fix Paint.NET for you. But, we aren’t mind readers. We need a little help from you to figure it out.

If you go back to an old version, we can no longer provide support. You’ll be on your own and you will soon notice that your favorite plugins will stop working.
